Challenges

Weekly Challenges to help get you more active or eating healthier......

As we enter a new week I have a new challenge for you. Pick three days this week to put aside just 10 minutes to stretch. It could be 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes before bed. Find a quiet spot (trust me....I KNOW how hard this can be in a busy house!!) and while you stretch I want you to put all the daily stresses out of your head.

Instead focus on you....yes I said YOU!! We are such busy people and most of the time the people who come last in our lives are....yup....ourselves! So during this time you are the MOST important person in your mind.

I want you to think;

" I am worth this journey to better health!"

" I AM WORTH IT!!"

I want you to think about.....

- How much more you are able to stretch than a week ago, a month ago, 6 months ago....
- How much more you will be able to stretch out your muscles a week from now, a month from now, 6 months from now...

Just 10 minutes of stretching a day will help you focus on all the wonderful changes that you are making to your body, slow your mind down to focus on you, and renew your spirit.

If you need ideas of what stretches are good to do; search Youtube.....I have found it an amazing resource during this journey.

Yours in Health,

Sheri

  1. How many times a week do you actively decide to put a few extra steps in your day? I am not talking working out for 30 minutes; I mean little things like parking further away from the store entrance, or taking the elevator one way and walking the stairs the other (walking down is an easier start than walking up them)?

This week make two changes to add steps to your day and commit to this for at least 5 days in the next 7 days...

Post below what you decided to do and how you found this challenge....

  2. I'm going to make a point of being as UNstationary as possible at work! It's easy to end up at the desk doing work on the computer but I'm going to make sure every day I do more walking (including perhaps going out for a walk at lunchtime - especially tomorrow as it sounds like it will be gorgeous)!

    1. GREAT! I use a pedometer app. on my phone to clock my steps each day....I find that keeps me conscious of how "unstationary" I am at work. Glad you are joining the challenge! Let me know how it goes!!

  3. Sooooo....today is hump day....how is this week's challenge going!?!?! Let me know what you are added to your routine.

I have started parking further away from the entrance to the gym each night I workout and anywhere else I have to park.

  4. Well....how did the challenge go for you?? I found it harder as the week went on to REMEMBER to add those extra steps in my parking further away from where ever it was I was going. It takes time to make something new a habit.....I will continue working on this!
